Whoever you select to officiate at your wedding, do be careful. Unfortunately, there are some people who call themselves "rabbi" but have little or no rabbinic education or training. To make sure you are celebrating your joyous and legal ceremony with someone who is truly a rabbi, ask where he or she was ordained. If the answer is something other than Hebrew Union College, the Reconsructionist Rabbinic College or the American Jewish University you may want to check more closely.
Just as we are all familiar with identity theft, sadly there are people pretending to be rabbis and stealing your trust. Make sure your rabbi is really a Rabbi!
Rabbi Mayersohn was ordained and earned the Doctor of Divinity degree from the Reform seminary, Hebrew Union College. He served Reform synagogues for 25 years in Massachusetts and California.

Rabbi Michael's wife Caryn is a photographer specializing in baby naming ceremonies, intimate wedding ceremonies, and other personal occasions. She has taken almost all of the photos on this website and has thousands of additional wedding photo samples.
Caryn worked in marketing for over 20 years. Her corporate positions led to growth within the realm of branding, advertising, public relations and the development of marketing sales literature. She advanced for twelve years at ARV Assisted Living and over eight at Time Warner Cable Media Sales Los Angeles Division, developing a good eye for color and design.
